REELECT Julie Pointner
for Plymouth City Council
Priorities for Plymouth
The City Council shapes how, and where, your tax dollars are spent — and over the past four years, I've worked hard to make sure those dollars reflect what Plymouth residents told me matters most. Here's what I've delivered, and what I'm continuing to push for in a second term.
From day one, I've worked to bring more voices into city decisions — through new listening sessions, joint commission meetings, and a council policy ensuring every member has a say on proclamations and resolutions. I'm proud to have supported Plymouth's first Pride proclamation, added Juneteenth as a paid city holiday, and helped rebuild relationships with our school boards.
I'll keep holding listening sessions, showing up for coffee chats, and staying available to every resident of Plymouth — because the best decisions happen when everyone's voice is heard.
Public Safety

I supported the police and fire cadet programs to build a pipeline of future first responders, and backed ordinances that keep our parks and public spaces welcoming and safe for everyone.
I will keep working to ensure Plymouth has the responsive, equitable public safety services our community deserves.
Business

I supported DEED grants for Phillips and CHIPS Act investment for Honeywell, bringing jobs and investment to Plymouth. I helped shape the redevelopment of the Prudential site in Ward 4, securing a new grocery store and spurring economic development of an underutilized area. I worked to modernize City Center zoning, opening the door to more housing and economic activity near our commercial core, and helped launch Hello! Plymouth, our new Destination Marketing Organization, to promote Plymouth as a destination for visitors and businesses alike.
I will continue to support Plymouth's businesses — old and new.
Improving Infrastructure

I helped redesign major roads with single-lane configurations that have measurably reduced accidents and supported new roundabouts to improve traffic flow and safety. After hearing from residents concerned about rising costs, I helped reform Plymouth's assessment policy — capping assessment amounts, fixing interest rates at lower levels, and requiring a council vote before either can increase.
I will keep working to make Plymouth's infrastructure safer and more affordable for residents.
Parks and Recreation

I helped open Schmidt Woods Park, supported a new cricket pitch, expanded recreational use of industrial areas for soccer, climbing, and baseball, and championed a student commissioner seat on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.
I will keep investing in the parks and programs that make Plymouth a great place to live.
Affordable Housing

I championed Plymouth's inclusionary housing policy, new TIF districts for affordable housing, a housing trust fund, 4D housing programs, an ADU policy, and an updated PUD policy that promotes density and affordability.
As a former Planning Commissioner and current council liaison to the commission, I bring firsthand knowledge of how land use decisions shape housing options for Plymouth families. I will keep fighting to create real housing options for Plymouth families — now and for the next generation.
Protecting the Environment

I delivered citywide compost collection, a Climate Action Plan, an Energy Action Plan, solar on city buildings, an updated solar policy, and a citywide tree inventory. I helped Plymouth earn Green Steps City recognition after years of work through our Environmental Quality Committee.
I'm pushing for continued progress on our sustainability goals.
