Vote for Julie

Over the past four years on the Plymouth City Council, I've worked hard to deliver results — from environmental initiatives to housing solutions to safer roads — while keeping Plymouth's tax rate among the lowest in the metro. I set high standards for myself, listened closely to every resident, and brought people together to find consensus, even on tough issues.

I'm running for reelection because there is more work to do, and I would be honored to continue representing Ward 4 and all of Plymouth.

Qualifications

I have spent the more than 25 years in the field of educational measurement. My experience includes:

  • Developing and maintaining project budgets/financials/P&L's

  • Effective project management

  • Ensuring compliance of state and federal regulations

  • Statistical analyst and technical writing for large government contracts and proposals

  • Presenting research nationally, and using evidence based research to inform my decisions.

A majority of my adult life has been spent studying and serving the public. From teaching 9th grade economics, to serving on the Plymouth Planning Commission, and most recently serving the residents of Ward 4 as your Council Member.  I feel very strongly about working for the benefit of others. Below is a quick glance at my higher education accomplishments.

  •  MA in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development - University of Minnesota, Twin Cites

  • Certificate in Program Evaluation -University of Minnesota, Twin Cities

  • BS in Sociology of Crime, Deviance, and Law - University of Minnesota, Twin Cities

  • BA in Secondary Education Social Studies as well as a minor in Social Work - St. Catherine University, St. Paul, MN

Family

I was a single mom who raised my daughters to value education and public service. My two wonderful daughters are both grown and living wonderful lives. I am a grandma to one and will never forget how hard it is raising family on one income. This is always in my mind when making budgetary decisions. There are many in Plymouth who live paycheck to paycheck. Their voices need to be heard.
